Looking for a Thermomix Cereal Alternative?
This recipe was originally featured in The Breakfast Issue of The 4 Blades Magazine. We unearthed it while we were creating The Breakfast Blitz Up podcast as we were looking for a Thermomix cereal alternative that was healthy and fast. Having the opportunity to make this recipe again was great as we rediscovered just how much we love it.
While we were making it we did some experimenting. The original recipe uses coconut cream but we tried it with plain yoghurt. Also, we tried it without either, both worked spectacularly. Another thing we did was leave it to rest overnight. The sunflower seeds soaked up the flavours and the moisture from the berries and the yoghurt which was kind of like bircher muesli. It makes a great afternoon snack too!
We absolutely love this recipe, if you’re used to a more sugary breakfast cereal than this may take some getting used to or some additional sweetener. But we love it!

Choc Berry Crunch
- Total Time: 5 minutes
- Yield: 2
Description
This is like a whole foods version of chocolate rice puff cereal. Yep. We said it. It’s delicious. So delicious that we’ve written the recipe so it serves two. That means with one preparation you can have half for breakfast, and pack the other half away in a jar for afternoon tea on the run. If you need to increase the serves to prepare for multiple people (or you really just love it THAT much), then just double it and adjust the chopping time as required.
