What are your best Thermomix budget tips? We’d love to hear them! In this episode of the podcast Bec and Joe each share their favourite Thermomix budget tips with a recipe to go with each of them! By the way… we DO try and have the best possible sound quality possible in our podcast… alas, Bec had a bit of a microphone issue in this podcast and it’s not up to our usual standard. Thermomix Budget Tip #1 – Harvesting Herbs
BEFORE your bunches of fresh herbs go bad, ‘harvest’ them. If you see them on special at the store, buy them and ‘harvest’ them. This is one of the best Thermomix Budget Tips!

Give them a good rinse under running water. No need to dry them off completely, just give them a bit of a shake and transfer them to the bowl.

Recipe 1Thai Fish Cakes (from The Budget Issue of The 4 Blades Magazine)
Thermomix Thai Fish Cakes
These tasty Thai Fish Cakes pack a serious flavour punch – and with only 4 main ingredients! They are perfect to take when you’re asked to ‘Bring a Plate’ (we have a whole section on this in The Budget Issue of the magazine!) Delicious warm or cold.

Thermomix Budget Tip #2 – Make Your Own Breadcrumbs
How great is it that homemade bread from the Thermomix doesn’t have any preservatives! Alas, it does mean that you are sometimes left with bread that is only fresh for the day. Why not blitz up your stale bread in the Thermomix to make breadcrumbs? Perfect solution! Simple set your Thermomix to Closed Lid / Turbo / 4 x 1 second blasts. Add some salt, cheese or herbs for a bit of a twist. We’ve got a number of recipes in The Budget Issue using this method!

Recipe 2Easy Pub Parmy (from The Budget Issue of The 4 Blades Magazine)
Easy Pub Parmy - 3 Ways_1
This Easy Pub Parmy (made with the help of the Thermomix) is getting rave reviews all over the place. Whip up your breadcrumbs, and off you go! Best of all, you can steam your veggies in the Thermomix while cooking your Parmy! Perfect!

Here is a cool tip from this podcast…
Be sure to transfer the contents of the Thermomix to a bowl before attempting to roll balls / biscuits / patties etc. Don’t cut your fingers!
