T4B026: Baked Cheesecake Thermomix Recipes

Nov 11, 2013

In Episode 26, we got creative with baked cheesecake Thermomix recipes. Firstly, Joe converted (and perfected, we think!) a New York Baked Cheesecake Thermomix recipe, which can also be made gluten free if necessary. Then, we used the Varoma to make a steamed chocolate cheesecake recipe! How good is it when you can use the whole Thermomix for a recipe?!?

Here are the recipes we chose this week:

Recipe 2 – Steamed Chocolate Cheesecake (from Little Lush Cooks)

Steamed Chocolate Cheesecake

Oh how we love a recipe that uses the whole Thermomix! You can, in fact, create this very impressive-looking dessert with only your Thermomix – no oven required!

Liz from Little Lush Cooks has done a fabulous job at creating a step-by-step guide to making this delicious cheesecake, no alterations from us on this one! All we had to do is feel pretty pleased with ourselves with the outcome.

Here are some cool tips from this podcast…

  • To line a springform pan, take the sides off and lay the baking paper over the bottom piece. Put the sides around it and clip it shut, locking the baking paper in place.
  • If you are creating a cheesecake ‘base’ that goes up the sides as well as across the bottom, start by pressing the mixture into the corner, then work up the sides and into the middle.
  • When steaming something like a cheesecake in the Varoma, pop something underneath the tin (like upside down dipping bowls, chopsticks, pencils) so that the steam can move around it.
  • When working with a base that goes up the sides, wait until it is very cold and can be pried away from the walls of the tin with a butter knife.
