Bec’s Super Simple Thermomix Salad

I (Bec) have to admit that my salad making has really improved since we did Episode 27 of The 4 Blades podcast. I am getting the perfect chopped salad consistency every time. The tips from Bee of Tick of Yum have REALLY helped! I’ve decided that Thermomix salad is indeed the best type of salad.

So, when I got a text message from Joe the other day telling me that he LOVED this salad and a follow-up dinner conversation about it being the best salad EVER, I thought I had best share it with you!

Bec's Super Salad


Choppy Bits:
1 capsicum (washed / deseeded / in bits)
1 zucchini (washed / chopped into large chunks)
1 shallot / green onion
3 handfuls of coriander leaves (approx 10g)
1 bunch of kale (approx 65g of leaves pulled away from the stalk – see ‘tip’)
1/2 green apple

Mix-in Bits:
1/2 avocado
juice of one lime
drizzle of olive oil
salt / pepper

Tip: We put the the kale leaves away from the stalk so that we are left with stalks (see picture above). We think that the best kale for this salad is the flatter ‘bumpy leaf’ one (darker in colour – on the right of the photo below) rather than the curly leaf one.



1. Put all the ‘choppy bits’ into the bowl. Chop on Speed 4. Have the MC for 1 second as it gets going, then take the MC off and look in through the top until the bits are your preferred size.
2. Put in all the ‘mix-in bits’. Reverse+Speed 4 until combined.
3. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary (eg. more lime juice / salt / pepper)

This salad came about a bit by accident, but it’s been a very happy accident! This is a super nutritious and delicious salad, made so quick and easy with your thermo mixer. I’ve had great feedback on it, with some people even including it in their Christmas Day rotation – what an honour! That being said, it’s also perfect just to make quickly and take it to work for lunch. – Bec

No: Gluten / Dairy / Egg / Nuts


  • capsicum – 1, washed, deseeded, roughly chopped
  • zucchini – 1, washed, roughly chopped
  • spring onion – 1
  • fresh coriander – 10g, leaves
  • kale – 65g, deveined
  • apple – 1/2, green, cored
  • avocado – 1/2
  • lime – 1, juice only
  • olive oil – drizzle
  • salt – to taste
  • pepper – to taste


  1. Add capsicum (1), zucchini (1), spring onion (1), coriander (10g), kale (65g) and apple (1/2) to the bowl. Mix Speed 4 / 4-6 seconds.
  2. Add in the avocado (1/2), lime juice (from 1 lime), oil (drizzle), and salt and pepper to taste. Mix Reverse+Speed 4 / 6 seconds until combined.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary (e.g., more lime juice / salt / pepper)
